During her graduate work, Amy developed an experimental program to validate a model for predicting the initial velocity of aerosol jets. After graduation, she joined Eastman Chemical Company in Longview, TX, as an R&D engineer in Pilot Plant Operations, where she designed a pilot plant to develop a new process for polyol production, resulting in a patent.
After spending a few years as a Technical Staff Engineer in Longview and a Research Engineer for Cellulose Esters Technology in Kingsport, TN, Amy returned to Pilot Plant Operations, where she scaled down a commercial specialty polymer process for new product development, working with customers on emerging applications.
In 2020, Amy went to work for CP Kelco in Oklahoma as a Senior Project Engineer, managing capital projects, and was subsequently promoted to Engineering Manager.
Most recently, Amy joined ChemTrade Logistics as the Senior Technology Manager for Metrology, supporting labs in Oklahoma, Ohio, and Wyoming. She is responsible for developing and executing an overall strategy to meet the ever-advancing needs of semi-conductor fabrications. Amy has served on the selection committee for the American Chemical Society Minority Scholars Program and has participated in our department’s undergraduate mentoring program since its inception. In her spare time, Amy has a small cattle farm, volunteers at the local animal shelter, and collects vintage clothes.
