Dr. Simkins is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at Oklahoma State University. Prior to obtaining her Ph.D., she worked for Williams, Inc. in Tulsa and Conoco, Inc. in the areas of financial planning and business development, chemicals research and development, and process engineering. Simkins is active in the finance profession and currently serves on the boards of the Financial Management Association International (FMA) and the Eastern Finance Association. She is Executive Editor of FMA Online, the online journal for the FMA and also serves on the editorial boards of several academic journals Simkins’ research has been published in leading finance journals. Her current research interests include energy finance, financial and energy risk management, international finance, board monitoring and diversity, and finance pedagogy. She has received a number of teaching awards from OSU including the Regents Distinguished Teaching Award (2001), the Outstanding OSU MBA Faculty Award (2002) and The Merrick Foundation Teaching Award (2001).Dr. Simkins is married to Russell Simkins (BSChE 1979) and they have four children.
