Mr. Stevens began an ongoing 35 year career in the engineering department of Fayetteville based Arkansas Western Gas Company in 1972. Working in various aspects of the gas gathering, transmission, and distribution business for the next 16 years, Stevens completed his BSChE at the University of Arkansas in 1982, and in 1988 was named Vice President of Construction and Maintenance. In 1992, he was named Vice President–Transmission and Engineering for Arkansas Western, and was promoted to Senior Vice President with responsibility for all utility operations in 1998. Stevens is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern Gas Association and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arkansas.
