After graduation, Chris began his career in the scale-up and commercialization of acrylate latexes, epoxies, and chelants at a Dow Chemical market development plant. In 1996, he moved to the Dow Agrosciences chloropyridines plant with responsibility for the distillation and crystal refiner unit operations. During this period, Chris received his first Dow technology center award recognizing highly profitable projects involving the optimization of a distillation column, which improved plant yields. Since 1998, he has been part of Dow process R&D, supporting R&D implementation, process development and optimization, troubleshooting, and product development for low-density polyethylene and high-pressure polyethylene copolymers. Between 1998 and 2023, Chris wrote over 80 internal research reports, received 18 patents, and was recognized with 12 additional technology center awards. During this time, he became known within Dow as a subject matter expert for manufacturing these polyethylene products. Chris was recently promoted to R&D Fellow and is currently the R&D representative on several Dow polyethylene business teams focused on shaping strategies to manage the global assets and increase earnings.
