Mr. Ramsey began his career with Eastman Chemical Company as a development engineer at Eastman’s Texas Operations in Longview, Texas, after receiving his BSChE from the University of Arkansas in 1985. Since then he has worked in a wide range of manufacturing assignments of increasing responsibility at various sites in Texas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and South Carolina.
In 2004, Ramsey was assigned to Eastman’s Columbia, S.C., site as director of special projects and was responsible for the start-up and operations of Eastman’s new IntegRex facility. In 2007, Ramsey took his present position as site manager for the company’s South Carolina Operations, the world’s largest manufacturer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymers for packaging.
Ramsey serves on the Boards for the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, South Carolina Manufacturer’s Association Plant Managers, and Business and Industry Political Education Committee (BIPEC). He is past director for the American Red Cross for Central South Carolina, a past member of Rotary and has done volunteer work for Angel Flight, an aviation network that transports underprivileged sick children to hospitals for treatment. Away from work, Ramsey enjoys aviation in almost any form. He has private and commercial pilot licenses with an instrument rating and enjoys using those skills on family adventures.
