Robert K. (Bob) Poag, BSChE 1983, MSChE 1984, PhD 1987, 2023 Inductee

Holly began her career with Nalco Chemical Company in South Arkansas/North Louisiana as a technical sales representative supporting chemicals, oil and gas, refining, and pulp & paper water treatment systems.

After four years with Nalco, she joined Great Lakes Chemical in El Dorado, AR as a process engineer and became part of their Six Sigma deployment efforts.  After spending four years rolling out Six Sigma across the North American region and executing improvement projects within the South Arkansas operations, she stepped into the Bromine Operations Management position.

In 2006, Holly transferred to their Taft, LA site, which produces PVC additives, where she moved from Process Improvement Leader to Operations Manager, to Strategic Procurement Leader.

Holly joined Hexion in 2012 as the Norco Site Technical Manager, then Operations Manager, and eventually Site Leader.  After the site closed in 2017, Holly moved back to her roots with roles within Manufacturing Excellence and Continual Improvement.  She finished her professional career as the Hexion Global Director of Continual Improvement and is now enjoying an early retirement on the beaches of beautiful northwest Florida.

Holly and her husband, Brent Stratton (BSChE 1992 and also a member of the Academy), currently live in Navarre Beach, Florida.  Their two sons, Philip and Thomas, have followed in their footsteps and studied Chemical Engineering at Louisiana State University – against their parents’ wishes.
