After graduation, Matt began working for Albemarle Corporation where he completed certification as Six Sigma Black Belt. In 2001, Matt joined ExxonMobil Chemical Company in Baton Rouge LA, in the Halobutyl business serving in roles that ranged from contact engineer to Operations Section Supervisor for the Halobutyl unit. In 2006, Matt relocated to Houston to complete a rotation in ExxonMobil Gas and Power Marketing, and from this position, Matt returned to the ExxonMobil Chemical Company to serve as the Specialty Elastomer Business Global Planning Manager and subsequently the Polyolefins Area Sales Manager responsible for sales in half of the United States and Canada. In 2013, Matt became the Global Marketing Manager for the Adhesion Business where he was responsible for business earnings. Following this role, he served as the Financial Planning Manager for ExxonMobil Chemical’s Planning and Business Development. His responsibilities include developing the Chemical Company strategy and the company’s near term financial goals and targets. In 2017, Matt became the AP Polypropylene and Vistamaxx Regional Sales Manager in Shanghai. At the beginning of the year, Matt assumed the responsibility of the Global Sales Manager for the Polypropylene, Vistamaxx, and Adhesions businesses while remaining in Shanghai. He is responsible for ~3MT of sales and developing an organization of more than 125 sales professionals across the world. The University of Arkansas, College of Engineering presented Matt with its Early Career Award in 2016. Matt is married to Kara (UA’96), and they have two children.
