Sam started his own company Eagle Material Handling, Inc. in 1975. Eagle was a source for warehouse transport and storage equipment. Sam also started Action Erectors, Inc. in 1978 that installed the storage systems sold by Eagle. In 1988, he sold the company to investors who renamed the company Cisco Eagle of Arkansas. Sam continued to work for the company until 2004 when he retired as Vice President. Sam has been very active in public service throughout his career.

Mr. Chaffin passed away on November 19, 2021. He will be missed.
